What is an iTero Scanner?

We are delighted to introduce an iTero scanner into our practice. The iTero scanner replaces the need for messy dental impressions by taking detailed images of your teeth and using clever software, turns this into a 3D virtual model of your teeth. We can use this model to plan your treatment and for Invisalign to make the clear aligners to move your teeth.

The scan takes just a couple of minutes and all you will hear is a gentle clicking noise as the scanner takes thousands of images of your teeth. On the screen next to you, you will see the image start to build up and once complete, our orthodontists will be able to manipulate the image showing you all that needs to be done to straighten your teeth.

But there is more! The images of your teeth can be sent to Invisalign and less than a minute later, you will see a simulation of what your teeth could look like after completing treatment. If you decide to proceed, Dr Wood will use the scanned images of your teeth to plan your treatment and once you are happy with what is being proposed, Invisalign will prepare the aligners to start your treatment.
