We offer a range of teeth straightening treatments in Nottingham, such as at the Invisalign clear aligners system, and Damon System clear braces and regular braces.
Both Invisalign and Damon clear and traditional braces are great teeth straightening treatments, and it just depends on your unique situation, including the current position of your teeth and the results you want to achieve. The most notable difference is the way they look – Invisalign aligners are clear trays that snugly fit around all your teeth and are removable, whereas Damon braces are either clear or metal brackets that are fixed to your teeth for a certain amount of time. When you have your free consultation with us, we’ll take you through your teeth straightening options and discuss which one might be right for you.
The right teeth straightening treatment depends on the current position of your teeth, and what you’re wanting to achieve. To explore all the options available to you, book a free consultation with us today!
Invisalign treatment at East Midlands Orthodontics starts from £1,020, and depends on the type and duration of the Invisalign treatment you choose. We offer free 30 minute consultations with our treatment coordinator who can take you through your options, give you more information, and answer any questions you have. You can also have a look at our pricing page for more information.
Unfortunately not! Heavily pigmented foods and drinks can stain the aligners, and chewing anything extremely hard can cause them damage, which we don’t want. You should only drink water with your aligners in, and make sure you take them out for eating or drinking anything else. Don’t worry, they’re really easy to remove and put back in after you’re finished eating and drinking.
Invisalign aligners are a great option for people who have had orthodontic work in the past, to correct any teeth movement since the treatment.
Your teeth will feel a bit thicker than normal with your aligners in, so at first you might find that your speech is affected. But Invisalign aligners are made of very thin material, and as with getting used to anything new, you’ll quickly adapt to how your aligners feel in your mouth and be able to speak normally.
We recommend that you wear your Invisalign aligners at all times, except for when you’re eating (or drinking coloured drinks). You should be wearing your aligners for at least 22 hours each day, otherwise your treatment could end up taking longer than expected.
In most cases, you can. Invisalign aligners won’t cause damage to crowns, but some types of dental restorations (like bridges and dental implants) can make orthodontic treatment a bit more complicated, but we’ll let you know if Invisalign will still work for you.
The Damon System uses passive self-ligating braces to eliminate the need for elastic or metal "ties'' that you’d usually find on traditional braces, which means your braces don’t need regular tightening. The elastics on traditional braces can cause friction and pressure, whereas Damon braces use a slide mechanism to hold the wire in place, which allows teeth to move more freely. Plus, Damon braces are designed to be discreet (available in clear brackets for those image conscious patients) and easy to keep clean. Without the elastic ties which attract and collect plaque, Damon braces make dental hygiene easy during treatment.
At first, you might experience some mild discomfort while you’re getting used to the feel of your Damon braces in your mouth, but because they don’t require tightening and use a unique slide mechanism with lighter forces than traditional braces, most people find their Damon braces quite comfortable.
Treatment with Damon braces starts from £2,499, and depends on the type and duration of the treatment you choose, with clear or traditional coloured brackets. We offer free 30 minute consultations with our treatment coordinator who can take you through your options, give you more information, and answer any questions you have. You can also have a look at our pricing page for more information.
The time it takes to straighten your teeth with the Damon System is usually much faster than with traditional braces. Also, because there are no elastic bands that need adjusting and tightening, you’ll require far fewer appointments during your treatment. Depending on your unique case and how complicated it is, you can usually expect treatment time with Damon braces to be between 6 and 12 months.
It depends on which Damon braces you opt for. Even though Damon braces are much smaller than traditional braces and they’re made with new materials that make them more discreet, you can still see metal braces on your teeth. If you’re concerned about metal brackets, don’t worry! There’s an option to have the discreet Damon Clear braces, which use clear brackets that are fitted to your teeth instead of metal ones.
We offer take-home teeth whitening treatments so you can safely whiten your teeth in the comfort of your own home. After assessing which teeth whitening option will be best for you, we’ll have some whitening trays made for you by our lab. The trays will be similar to clear retainers but will be made of a softer material, and will have small pockets for the whitening gel.
With some very simple maintenance, your bright, white smile can last for a while after treatment! You can maintain your lovely white teeth by making sure you brush your teeth every day, cut down on heavily pigmented foods and drinks that can stain your teeth, and thoroughly rinse your mouth out with water after you’ve eaten or had any coloured drinks.
Take-home whitening costs just £300, which includes your whitening trays and whitening gels.
Teeth whitening uses specially designed trays and a whitening gel which you’ll carefully apply to your teeth. A special light is then used to activate the gel and speed up the whitening. The whole process takes about one hour. You’ll leave your teeth whitening treatment with custom-made whitening trays and a whitening kit to continue the process at home.
You can, but it’s important to note that only your natural teeth will absorb the whitening pigment. This means there could be a difference in colour between your natural teeth after whitening, and your teeth that have crowns or veneers on them. If you’re wondering if teeth whitening is right for you, you can talk to us about your options.
We take the health and safety of our staff and patients very seriously at East Midlands Orthodontics. Our staff all wear face masks, and our practice is always kept exceptionally clean and sterile.
We encourage all our patients to wear a face mask when they’re inside the practice, and we’ll let you know when you can remove your mask for treatment. If you have a valid exemption from wearing a face mask, let us know so we can make your visit a safe one.
